Auditions set for Stage Door children’s musical

Stage Door productions will perform its 11th annual children’s musical theater production “Frozen Jr.” July 18-20. Stage Door productions will be the first community group to do a production in the Center for Performing Arts at Iowa central Community College. The creative team consists of Alyssa Sparks, director; Megan Cassady, music director; and Emily Eastwood, choreographer. Webster County UDMO drive-thru food pantry Thursday

Webster County Upper Des Moines Opportunity is holding a drive-thru food pantry from 4:30 to 6 p.m., or until the food is gone, on Thursday at the Corpus Christi Center, 403 N. Eighth St. The pantry is open to all income eligible residents of Webster County. For more information, call the UDMO office at 515-576-7774.

National Kids to Parks Day is Saturday

National Kids to Parks Day is an annual celebration to encourage play that connects kids and families with parks. The hope is to introduce the public to the park inventories of Webster County Conservation and Fort Dodge Parks, Recreation, Forestry Department. Flood watch issued for Stratford

A flood watch has been issued for the Des Moines River near Stratford, according to the National Weather Service. The watch will be in effect from this afternoon until 1 a.m. Saturday. The watch means flooding is possible. At 10 a.m. Thursday, the river near Stratford was at 17.3 feet. Flood stage is considered to be 19 feet. Flood warnings in Humboldt County have been extended. The warning for northern Humboldt County along the east fork of the Des Moines River has been extended until Monday. The warning for southern Humboldt County has been extended until Tuesday.
