Dayton repairs sinkhole Tuesday

DAYTON — A sinkhole in the City of Dayton has been repaired less than 48 hours after it was discovered.

On Sunday, the City of Dayton posted on social media that a “sinkhole” was discovered on First Avenue Southwest between Eighth and Ninth Streets Southwest. Barricades were placed around the hole with the city stating that they were “not sure how large it is,” and asking residents to avoid the area.

According to city staff, the hole was created when an old storm sewer eroded. Maintenance staff remedied the problem on Tuesday and the road was to be reopened to the public shortly after.

Starting at $4.94/week.
