Webster County Health Department welcomes new medical director

Dr. Ilceski appointed last week

The Webster County Health Department welcomed a new medical director last week.

Dr. David Ilceski, an OB/GYN at UnityPoint Health — Fort Dodge, was appointed by the Webster County Board of Supervisors and Board of Health to replace Interim Medical Director Erika Hout.

Hout, an advanced registered nurse practitioner, served as the medical director since the departure of previous medical director Dr. Vinil Buhma.

“We thank Erika for her work as interim medical director,” said Webster County Supervisor Mark Campbell.

WCHD Director Jennifer Sumpter also thanked Hout for filling in during that time.

“Erika’s dedication to the Health Department and commitment to the community enabled all public health services to continue without interruption,” she said.

Ilceski has been with UnityPoint Health — Fort Dodge since July 2019. He completed medical school at St. George’s University in Grenada, West Indies, and residency at Ascension St. John Hospital in Detroit, Michigan.

“I would like to welcome Dr. Ilceski to our team here at Webster County Health Department,” Sumpter said. “I am eager and excited for this opportunity to work and collaborate with Dr. Ilceski. This partnership will support and provide great public health resources to the citizens of Webster County.”
