Where do you teach?

Early Childhood Center

What grade/subject do you teach?

Kindergarten

Why do you teach?

I want to make a difference in the lives of each and every one of my students each year. I love being their cheerleader each and every day and I love seeing the smile on their faces as they accomplish something new or that they didn’t think they would be able to do.

What is your favorite part of the school day?

My favorite part of our day is the morning meeting. During that time we get to have fun together, learn about each other, make connections, and work on building better relationships with each other.

What are you working hardest on right now?

I am working really hard on getting my classroom ready for students. I got to move to the ECC this year and have been so excited about preparing for the new year in a new setting. I’ve also been working with my team on our teaching plans for the new year. We are trying to include everything that our students will need in order to be prepared and successful for the new year.

What are you most proud of as a teacher?

I am most proud of the relationships that I have built with my students and their families. I love when the students come back after I have had them in school for hugs, to give me a picture that they made for me, or just to talk.

What makes you happiest as a teacher?

I love to see the smile on my students’ faces when they accomplish something for the very first time or when they accomplish something that they didn’t think they would be able to do.

How do you contribute to/how are you involved in our community outside of school?

I spend a lot of time with my three daughters and all of their sports activities. I love helping them with any of the events that they have as a parent volunteer or anything else that they may need. I also love supporting my students and past students in any extracurricular that they have outside of school.

What are your interests/hobbies outside of school?

I love watching my daughters play softball! We have three daughters and a total of five softball teams so we spend a lot of time on the ball field and I love every second of it. I also love anything that has to do with crafts. If I have any time after that we like to spend it with our friends and their families.

What do you wish your students/families knew about you?

I want my students and their families to know that I care about them very much and that I will ALWAYS be there for them! I want them to know that I will always do my best to make sure that they get exactly what they need.

What does Together We Rise mean to you?

Together We Rise means working together and playing a part in order to rise and accomplish our goals and successes. “We” means EVERYBODY — all of the staff within the school, all students, and all their families. “We” means everybody in our community works together to help our students succeed.
