Why do you teach?

I teach because I love kids! I love the excitement preschoolers have when they have been working hard on something and it finally clicks and they can do it.

What is your favorite part of the school day?

Outdoor Classroom

What are you working hardest on right now?

Right now I’m working really hard on incorporating Project Approach and Creative Curriculum with the outdoor classroom.

What are you most proud of as a teacher?

I am most proud of being a teacher when the preschoolers have been working hard on a skill and they finally accomplish it.

What makes you happiest as a teacher?

I am happiest as a teacher when I see the preschoolers excited for outdoor classroom.

How do you contribute to/how are you involved in our community outside of school?

I enjoy going to my son’s middle school cross country meets, and I am also involved with the Riverside Family Fun Night.

What are your interests/hobbies outside of school?

I have a 12-year-old son, Logan, and a 9-year-old daughter, Jenna. We love to explore parks and go camping at different places in Iowa. I also enjoy reading.

What do you wish your students/families knew about you?

I wish my families knew that I care about their child every day. I enjoy watching them to continue to succeed through school as well.

What does Together We Rise mean to you?

Together we Rise means team work to me. You need team work in your school and your classroom. Working together to make sure we all succeed is the most important.
