Students in the Arts awards ICCC scholarships
The Students in the Arts Foundation has awarded six $500 scholarships in partnership with Iowa Central Community College for the 2020-2021 school year.
St. Edmond
Catholic High School
Jonah Hind received a theatre scholarship.
“Johah has an incredible future in the performing arts,” said Janessa Hendrix, the nominating teacher.
Bennett McCarville received a scholarship for visual arts. He was nominated by teacher Barbara Lilly.
“Throughout his high school education, Bennett has been a model art student,” Lilly said.
Rene Cazares received a vocal music scholarship.
“The impact that Rene has made on the choir program has been amazing,” said Ben Wegner, choir director.
Fort Dodge
Senior High
Akeylah Wilson was nominated for the theatre scholarship by Lindey Krug.
“Akeylah has grown so much in her confidence over the last four years of high school,” Krug said.
Ty Williamson received the visual arts scholarship. He was nominated by Sydney Honsbruch.
“Ty is an amazing student who is creative, outgoing and driven,” she said.
Haddie Fritz was nominated by Matt Drees and will receive a vocal music scholarship.
“Haddie has a huge heart, infectious smile, passion for singing and an incredible voice,” Drees said.
