Candyland Carnival planned at Community Christian

Candyland Carnival is a new public event hosted by Community Christian School, 2406 9 1/2 Ave. S.

Candyland Carnival is a family focused, carnival-style extravaganza, utilizing virtually every room in the school building.

It will be held March 7, from 4-7 p.m.

Games, prizes, photo booth, face painting and treats will be included.

The games, each with prizes, will be targeted toward children, from toddlers through eighth-graders.

Each classroom will feature a different game. One room will have a petting zoo with puppies, hamsters and rabbits. Another will have an activity created by Iowa Central rugby players and dance team members.

In the chapel area will be games and a photo booth.

There will be face painting and temporary tattoos in the art room. The entire school will be decorated following the Candyland Carnival theme.

Game tickets will be sold at the door for 25 cents, or the cost of an unlimited play wristband is $15.

There is fun for all ages, so adults without children are also invited.

In the gym will be more than 100 silent auction items under two tents for bidding with different cut-off times.

Also in the gym will be carnival-style food, including hot dogs, sloppy joes, popcorn, snow cones, cotton candy and more.
