FDSH softball coaches to hold Two Rivers Softball Clinic

Members of the Fort Dodge Senior High and Fort Dodge Middle School softball coaching staff will host the Two Rivers Softball Clinic on Dec. 30 at the Saint Edmond Arena, 1001 Fourth Ave. N. Clinic staff will include: Andi Adams, FDSH head softball coach; Kenzie Alstott, FDSH assistant varsity and head JV coach; Aaron Miller, FDSH volunteer assistant varsity and JV coach; Molly Matthes, FDSH head freshman and assistant varsity and JV coach; Cassie Tjebben, FDMS head softball coach; and Bre Tjebben, FDMS assistant coach.

This personalized clinic will cover what athletes need to do in order to be fundamentally sound, including defense, offense, pitching, catching and base running drills. Coaches and parents will also learn how to put together effective practices and keep athletes interested the entire time. They are welcome to stay and watch how the drills are taught, performed and reinforced. Athletes will receive one-on-one instruction during multiple drills as station work is completed.

The day’s schedule will be as follows:

∫ 9 to 11 a.m., grades 2-5, $40 registration fee ($5 discount for PRIDE players)

∫ 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., grades 6-8, $40 registration fee ($5 discount for PRIDE players)

Participants should arrive 10 minutes prior to the start time. Players should bring a glove, bat (if they have one), comfortable clothes and tennis shoes.

The registration form can be found by clicking on the Peachjar button on each of the Fort Dodge schools’ individual web pages at www.fdschools.org. Registration forms and payment must be returned to Adams by Dec. 23. Anyone with questions can contact Adams at 515-571-5315 or coachandiadams@gmail.com.
