Allen and Underwood to provide mental health at Community Health Center

Community Health Center of Fort Dodge has added two additional providers to its behavioral health team: Brittany Allen, LMSW, and Courtney Underwood, LMHC.

Allen earned her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work in 2020 from Briar Cliff University in Sioux City and Master’s degree in Social Work in 2022 from the University of Denver in Colorado. She completed her internship with Community Health Center in 2021. Allen is passionate about supporting clients as they navigate life transitions, experiences of trauma, difficult family relationships and depression or anxiety. She works with individuals ages 8 and up and has experience working with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. She previously was a victim advocate and continues to provide advocacy services within the U.S. military. She has served in the U.S. Army for the past 11 years and continues to serve.

Underwood is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who graduated in February 2021 with her Master’s in clinical mental health counseling. She has experience working with teen and adult mental health and substance abuse. Underwood grew up in Manson and Fort Dodge.

Community Health Center of Fort Dodge offers a variety of mental health services including behavioral health screening and counseling, crisis intervention, medication management and substance abuse screening and counseling. They are open to all and accept Medicare, Medicaid, most private insurance and offer a sliding fee scale to those who qualify.
