KYL teen events scheduled for May

WEBSTER CITY — Kendall Young Library will be having a variety of teen events throughout May. Teen Lounge — Patrons in sixth through 12th grades are invited from 3:30 to 5 p.m. on Tuesdays. Teen Lounge will happen on Tuesday, May 19, and May 26. As a special event, this Tuesday, current fifth graders are invited to join the Teens for an afternoon of Bingo. Federated Garden Club to hold sale

The plant and garden sale hosted by the Fort Dodge Federated Garden Club will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, unless sold out earlier, at the Fort Dodge Lions Den, 731 Expo Drive. The sale will include annuals, perennials, herbs, and vegetables, plus garden-related books, magazines, and tools. In addition, there will be canning jars (some blue), garden art, and garden-themed puzzles and decor.

‘Retracing the Dragoon Trail Book’ talk set for May 12 at FD Public Library

Kevin Mason will be at the Fort Dodge Public Library, 424 Central Ave., to discuss his new book “Retracing the Dragoon Trail in Iowa” at 6 p.m. on May 12. In his book, Mason traces Iowa’s transformation from prairies and wetlands to farms, towns, and transportation networks, beginning with the 1835 expedition of the First U.S. Dragoons. CDA to meet May 14

The Catholic Daughters Court 216 meeting will begin at 6 p.m. on May 14 at the Corpus Christi Center, 405 N. Eighth St. Mass will be held at 6 p.m., followed by dinner and a speaker. CDA Sister Angela Croonquist will talk about her small business in superfoods, including Spring Creek Honey and fresh microgreens. There will also be a CDA business meeting.
