FD softball team on cruise control

WATERLOO — The third-ranked Fort Dodge softball team ran its win streak to 11 straight with another convincing sweep. The Dodgers (19-2 overall) combined for 26 runs in 11-1 and 15-0 victories over Waterloo East on Tuesday night. During the streak the Dodgers have scored double digits in nine consecutive games. HUMBOLDT — Tru McBride had one career home run in nearly 220 varsity at-bats heading into the 2026 baseball season. That narrative has changed in a big way for the Fort Dodge junior this year. DES MOINES — Aubrey Alstott had a near-perfect day here Monday afternoon for the third-ranked (Class 4A) Fort Dodge softball team. Alstott tossed a four-inning no-hitter in the opener of a doubleheader vs. Des Moines East, striking out six as the Dodgers won, 11-0. They completed the sweep with a 13-0 win in five.
