“I honestly can’t recall having a day at the plate like that in a doubleheader,” FDSH head coach Blake Utley said. “The guys were just on fire. Offense was definitely the name of the game.

“And the best part was, we had kids producing that we put in after our starters. It’s always great to see those guys get a chance and produce.”

McBride had his second homer of the day in game two, adding a double while going 2-for-3 with six RBI. Schiltz scored three times and drove in two, Jaxson Dencklau, McElroy and Underberg each scored twice, and Peterson had a pair of RBI.

The Dodgers put up six in the second, three in the third, six again in the fourth and two more in the fifth, as McElroy pitched three-plus to earn the win, striking out three. Dencklau retired all four batters he faced by way of strikeout.

Up next for Fort Dodge will be a single game at Humboldt on Tuesday night.
