Jane Young House open for tours June 28

WEBSTER CITY — The Jane Young House, 629 Elm St., Webster City, will be open on June 28 for anyone to come to tour the house and view the latest vintage clothing exhibit “Let’s All Go To The Movies.” Those attending are welcome to take a quiz matching the quotes from the movies to the clothing displayed. The house will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is $5 per person. The event is sponsored by the Webster City Women’s Club. The house is handicap accessible.

Badger Fireman’s Ball is Saturday

BADGER — Badger Fire and Rescue Fireman’s Ball is 4:30 to 11 p.m. Saturday at the Badger Fire Station. A pork loin and pulled pork dinner will be served 4:30 to 7 p.m. There will be a live auction at 6 p.m. Section 7 will perform from 8 to 11 p.m. Tickets are $15 at the gate, ages 5 to 12 are $5 and ages 4 and under are free.

Gowrie music festival is June 29

GOWRIE — The Gowrie Development Commission presents the Fort Dodge Area Symphony Summer Strings Music Festival at 1 p.m. June 29 in the Gowrie City Park. The festival will also feature Spencer Suchan. Bring a lawn chair for this free event. Food and beverage stands will be available. Freewill donations are appreciated.

Badger Lutheran Church steak fry will be held on June 20

BADGER — The annual Badger Lutheran Church Steak Fry is 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. June 20 at the church. Tickets are $25 each and can be purchased from the church office or at the door. The dinner will be a ribeye steak with baked potato, baked beans, green beans, salads and dinner rolls. Children age 12 and under will receive a free hot dog meal. Badger Lutheran Church Youth will provide ice cream for a donation.

Coffee and Conservation is Saturday

Webster County Conservation is holding Coffee and Conservation at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Matt Cosgrove River’s Edge Discovery Center, 20 N. First St. Each month there will be an informal discussion about a variety of conservation/recreation topics in Webster County. Coffee and light snacks will be provided. The topic is the Urban Fishing program from Tyler Stubbs with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.

Diabetes support group meets monthly

Hosted by Trinity Diabetes Center, the free Diabetes Support Group provides tools and tips on how to handle the more complex and difficult tasks of diabetes in life. This support group is open to those with diabetes, as well as their family members and/or caregivers. Each month, attendees gain valuable knowledge, support, and practical tips for managing diabetes effectively. The upcoming meeting, scheduled for June 25, will focus on the importance of exercise and self-care, an essential aspect of diabetes management.
