Catholic Daughters to meet Thursday

The Catholic Daughters Court 216 meeting will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday at the Corpus Christi Center. Mass will begin at 6 p.m. followed by dinner, speaker Jane Klingson Morlan, a cancer wig specialist for UnityPoint, and a business meeting. Bring winter coats, socks, blankets, etc. for CDA's November project. Members who would like to attend, RSVP for dinner by calling Kitty Nilles at 515-206-5496 by noon Tuesday. KYL to hold teen events in October

WEBSTER CITY — Kendall Young Library will hold a variety of teen events throughout October. Teen Lounge — Patrons in sixth through 12th grades are invited from 3:30 to 5 p.m. each Tuesday in October for special activities, video games, snacks, crafts, board games, and more. This time and place is perfect to hang out with friends and is a come-and-go style event. Homeschool TECH BUILD — Students will have time to work on wind-powered cars from 1:30 to 3 p.m. on Thursday, where they can build and modify their project. Friends of Kendall Young sale set

WEBSTER CITY — Beginning at noon on Oct. 15, Friends of Kendall Young Library will host its annual book sale. The Friends Book Sale will be available to the public from noon to 6 p.m. on Oct.15, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Oct. 16 and from 10 a.m. to noon on Oct. 17 in the lower level of Kendall Young Library. This sale will have a wide collection of children’s and adult books along with DVDs and audiobooks.

Harcourt Library to hold craft workshop

HARCOURT — The Harcourt Public Library will hold a polymer ghost craft workshop from 6 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 13 at the church, 106 W. Second St. Participants will mold two ghosts, bake them and then decorate them with decoupage. There is a $5 charge for materials.

Lake City church ice cream social set

LAKE CITY — Lake City Union Church Women will hold an ice cream social from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Sunday at the church. The menu includes pulled pork sandwiches and homemade pie and ice cream for a freewill donation. Carryouts will be available.

Fonda Arts Center to hold food drive

FONDA — The Fonda Arts Center will host a fundraiser and food drive from 1 to 4 p.m. on Oct. 11. This event, co-sponsored by MAGS 4 Fonda, will feature Classic Country Music performed by Dan Keen of Newell, and Gloria and Randy Mobley and Larry Heschke of Fonda. Music will start at 2 p.m. Food donations should be non-perishable items, and monetary donations are also appreciated. All this is happening on the northwest corner of Fourth and Main in Fonda, where admission is free and refreshments complimentary.
