FDPL children’s department to hold Summer Adventure on Tuesday

Join us in the Fort Dodge Public Library’s main space at 10 a.m. Tuesday for Butterfly Encounter Tents. Experience the wonder of live butterflies with Absolute Science. While waiting for your turn to step inside the butterfly tents, enjoy a variety of hands-on educational stations and activities. Each guest will borrow a butterfly flower feeder for a unique, hands-free encounter. All children attending must be accompanied by an adult. FDPL holding adult and teen board game nights on Mondays

Join the Fort Dodge Public Library, 424 Central Ave., for a fun time with both classic and new board and card games. There will be a wide variety available, but you’re welcome to bring your own too. With plenty of games to choose from (and tables for multiple games at once), there’s sure to be something for everyone to enjoy. Board Game Nights will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Mondays, June 16, July 21 and Aug. 18, in the large meeting room. Garden Club meeting on Tuesday

The Fort Dodge Federated Garden Club will meet at noon Tuesday for a potluck dinner at the Lion’s Den, 731 Exposition Drive. There will be a tree dedication, and Sandy Quam, Federated Garden Club judge, will be talking about judging “trays” and “table for one” for our upcoming flower show on June 28 and 29. Judith Walrod will be sharing one of her hobbies as well. The Twilight tour will be July 10 for those interested. Visitors are welcome.

Sonshine Singers to present Summer Sing on June 29

The Sonshine Singers, an interdenominational group of area vocalists, will present Sonshine Singers Summer Sing at 5 p.m. June 29 at First Covenant Church, 201 Ave. H. There is no admission charge, a freewill offering is appreciated.

Webster County Conservation to hold Tuesday at Ten Hike Tuesday

LEHIGH — Webster County Conservation is holding a Tuesday at Ten Hike at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holiday Creek Wildlife Area, Coalville. The area is located just one mile east of Coalville, and just north of U.S. Highway 20 is the 36-acre Holiday Creek Area. Park off Peterson Drive before the gate and walk back.

Community Health Center of Fort Dodge holding vision clinics on June 19-20

The Community Health Center of Fort Dodge is holding vision clinics on June 19 and 20 in partnership with Delta Dental of Iowa Foundation, DeltaVision, Prevent Blindness Iowa and OneSight EssilorLuxottica Foundation. The clinics will be held from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. both days at Butler Elementary School gymnasium, 945 S. 18th St. A comprehensive vision exam and glasses, if needed, will be at no cost to anyone ages 4 and up (with priority given to adults) who do not have another way to access vision care.
