Gaels compete in NCC tennis tourney

WEBSTER CITY — The St. Edmond boys tennis team continued to find success on the courts, competing here Wednesday at the North Central Conference Tournament. Leading the way for the Gaels was the doubles team of Ethan Cibert and Grant Anderson, as they placed fourth overall in the first flight, as St. Edmond finished with 10 team points. SIOUX CITY — Francis Lockwood and Eric Zuniga made big moves up the leaderboard at the North Central District championship for the Iowa Central men’s golf team. But in the end, the Tritons were unable to crack the Top-5, finishing seventh overall as Kirkwood rallied past Northeast. Southeast was third followed by NIACC, Southwestern, DMACC and Iowa Central. CLEAR LAKE — The St. Edmond boys golf team finished second on Tuesday in North Central Conference action. Clear Lake carded a round of 153 to take home top honors. The Gaels shot a 171. Clarion-Goldfield/Dows was third at 183. Kenny Fisher from Clear Lake led a wave of Lions atop the leaderboard with a round of 37, as teammate Kysen Lamb was second with a 38. Southeast Valley boys do it again at TLC meet

POCAHONTAS — Just like they have done all season, the Southeast Valley boys track and field team struck gold at a meet on Tuesday. This time, it resulted in the Jaguars claiming the Twin Lakes Conference championship. Southeast Valley scored 170 points, using a strong late finish to the meet to hold off Sioux Central.
