Talya Sampson and Anabel Seaman added their names to the growing list of All-American volleyball players at Iowa Central.

Sampson was named first team by the NJCAA while Seaman made the second. They were two of five players from the ICCAC named to one of the three honor teams.

The Tritons finished this past season 31-9 overall and advanced to the NJCAA Div. II National Tournament, placing ninth overall. They won the regular season conference championship, going 12-0, and claimed a regional title.

“We’re beyond proud of Talya and Anabel for their All-American honors,” ICCC head coach Sara Horn said. “Two very deserving players.

“Talya and Anabel are two great examples of what you can accomplish when you combine hard work and discipline to reach your goals.”

Sampson, a sophomore, recorded 728 kills with 485 digs and 88 total blocks this past season. For her two-year Triton career, she tallied 1,080 kills with 686 digs and 158 total blocks.

“Talya led the country in kills and really show how dominate of a player she is night in and night out,” Horn said. “She worked really hard this past year to elevate her game to another level after her freshman season.”

Seaman, also a sophomore, had 1,438 assists this past fall to go along with 323 digs, 43 total blocks and 39 kills. She finished with 2,072 career assists, 572 digs and 47 kills.

“Anabel is the definition of an All-American setter,” Horn said. “Seh has such a great energy about her and her attitude, effort and the way she gets along with everyone will take her far in life.”

Iowa Central has had at least one NJCAA All-American 12 years in a row, earning at least two honors five of the last six seasons.
