Dodger girls wrap up regular season at FDCC

The Fort Dodge girls golf squad closed the regular season with their home invitational on Friday at the Fort Dodge Country Club.

The Dodgers placed sixth in the 11-team field at 397. Waukee Northwest was the champion with a 307, followed by Gilbert (312), Clear Lake, Ames, Sioux City Heelan and FDSH.

Humboldt (399) was right behind the Dodgers. Newton, Des Moines East, Mason City and Webster City rounded out the field.

Fort Dodge junior Emma Lloyd carded an 88 to place 18th. Lloyd recorded seven pars and had a 42 on the front nine.

Freshman Emersyn Lara (97) broke 100 for the first time this season to follow Lloyd. Lara had a 43 on the front nine, including four pars and six in all.

Freshman Kinsley Nelson (100), freshman Allison Baade (112) and seniors Gracie Harvey (118) and Brielle Crouch (118) rounded out the Dodger lineup.

Senior Ava Lohrbach of Gilbert fired a two-under par 69 to capture individual medalist honors. Senior Adalyn Wiig of Waukee Northwest was the runner-up at even-par 71.

Sophia List had an 89 to lead Humboldt. Jada VanDeWalle (100) was next in the line for Wildcats.

Webster City’s Hayden McCoy shot a 104.

Fort Dodge will play in a Class 4A regional tournament at 10 a.m. on Wednesday in Marshalltown.
