Dodgers open home portion of golf season
The Fort Dodge boys golf team opened the home portion of their season on Monday at the Country Club.
Mason City (163) won the triangular, followed by the Dodgers (176). Waterloo East (211) was third.
Mason City’s Michael Solberg and Will Schissel tied for medalist honors, as both shot 39s.
FDSH’s Davis Underberg (40) had the third best score of the day. Mason Frevert (43), Trace Rial (45), Jaxson Dencklau (48), Camden Sassman (49) and Gavin Davis (52) were next in line for the Dodgers.
“We are still struggling to find our stride,” said Fort FDSH head coach Nick Vinson. “We did some good things, but we have to be better from 100 yards in and getting up and down as quickly as possible.
“We are good enough to shoot in the low 160s or better, but being good enough on paper doesn’t get it done.”
The Fort Dodge’s junior varsity saw Cameron Beck (48), Carter Hemrick (52), Holden Doster (53), Alex Berger (55), Hunter Kasperbauer (56) and Alex Johanson (56) in action.
The Dodgers host the Fort Dodge Invitational on Tuesday.
