MARSHALLTOWN — The Fort Dodge boys soccer team held Marshalltown to one goal in the first half, but the Bobcats came up big in the second here on Friday evening.

The Bobcats (1-4 overall) scored five second-half goals to pull out a 6-1 victory over the Dodgers.

“After they scored in the first eight minutes, we got it together and started competing better defensively,” said FDSH head coach Joe Jackson. “We put more pressure on them and had some opportunities.

“We had a couple of really close misses that could have changed things.”

Shawn Roberts had the only goal in the contest for the Dodgers.

“We let one in early in the second half and then it kind of snowballed after that as far as us trying to get caugh up,” Jackson said. “The guys played well and learned some lessons.”

Fort Dodge is back in action on Monday, hosting Sioux City East at Rogers Park. Junior varsity action will begin at 5 p.m., with varsity to follow.
