Fort Dodge continued its winning ways and clinched the No. 2 seed at the upcoming state rugby tournament with a sweep on its home pitch Friday night.

The Stags easily handled Cedar Rapids Washington (26-7) and Des Moines Roosevelt (38-5), pushing their win streak to 11.

Sophomore Jesse Egli recorded three tries for Fort Dodge (11-1 overall), which hasn’t dropped a match since a season-opening setback versus No. 1 and unbeaten Cedar Falls. Isaac Firsching and Bo Cowell added two tries each, with Ty Adams, Carlos Elias and Quintin Jaeschke also chipping in a try.

The state tournament starts on Friday in Pleasant Hill. Matchups will be announced this week.

Fort Dodge placed third at state last season.
