DES MOINES — Five Fort Dodge wrestlers will have first round byes.

Defending state champion Dreshaun Ross (43-0) is the top-seed at 215 pounds.

Ross will face the winner of Des Moines Lincoln’s Lance Clark (24-10) and Carlisle’s Adyn Wyckoff (26-21). Holden Hansen (28-3) of Southeast Polk is the second seed.

Koy Davidson (38-2) and Damarion Ross (38-4) are the two seeds at 138 and 175 pounds respectively.

Davidson will wrestle either Danny Peters (25-10) of Clinton or Eli Cox (21-20) of Indianola.

Waukee Northwest’s Carter Freeman (34-1) is the No. 1. The three-seed is Kael Kurtz (24-3) of Iowa City High and Cody Trevino (37-7) of Bettendorf is the four. Jabari Hinson (43-5) is the fifth seed.

Ross will compete against either Jon Hatchitt (28-10) of ADM or Grant Gammell (26-12) of Waukee.

Three-time state champion Maximus Maganyna (41-0) of Waterloo East is the top-seed.

Two-time state finalist Dru Ayala (39-3) is the third seed at 120 pounds. Southeast Polk’s Carter Pearson (35-0) is the top-seed, Jake Knight (31-1) is the three and Cody Vandermark (32-4) of Ankeny Centennial is the four.

Senior Cal Hartman (190) is the fifth seed as well as sophomore Luke Fierke (285).

Hartman’s (33-10) first round opponent will either be Brayton Gippie (25-14) of Bondurant-Farrar or Abe Parker (23-17) of Waukee Northwest. Fierke (33-9) will face either Ashton Honore (18-13) of Iowa City West or Carlos Andrade (11-6) of Lewis Central.

Senior Kane Butrick (34-7) is the ninth-seed at 132 pounds. Butrick’s first round opponent will be Aidyn Roman (15-27) of Cedar Rapids Kennedy.

Sophomore Sam Davidson (126), the 12th seed faces Waukee’s Lincoln Miller (10-11).

Freshman Trace Rial (25-22), Sophomore Rylee Brown (27-21) and Jesse Egli (29-21) are all seeded 19th.

Rial will face Mason Oostenink (24-9) of Boone at 106 pounds. Brown will meet Braden Doyle (19-12) of Iowa City West at 144 pounds. Egli will face Kade Johnson (22-5) of Spencer.
