For six area schools, the playoffs roll on this coming Friday night.

Emmetsburg, West Bend-Mallard and Bishop Garrigan were all winners this past week to advance with Webster City, Humboldt and Algona joining them this coming week.

The Lynx (7-2 overall) secured an automatic bid in Class 3A with a win over Humboldt, allowing them a home game against Nevada (7-2).

Also in 3A, the Wildcats (5-4) and Algona (6-3) secured spots in the field. Humboldt travels to Williamsburg (8-1) while the Bulldogs are at Sioux Center (8-1).

Emmetsburg (7-2) welcomes in Sumner-Fredericksburg (8-1) in a 1A tilt while West Bend-Mallard (7-2) heads to Anita-CAM and Bishop Garrigan (8-1) hosts defending state champion Remsen St. Mary’s in eight-player action.

The Wolverines and Golden Bears, who were district rivals, are now paired in the same pod and would meet in the next round with wins.
