ROBERT “TOBY” WEISS

Robert “Toby” Weiss, 78, of Fort Dodge, died Aug­ust 3, 2017 at the Good Sam­aritan So­ciety in Man­son, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 7, 2017 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. Interment will be held in Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. Sunday at Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

Robert Weiss, the son of Elmer and Wanda (Niemeyer) Weiss was born on June 18, 1939 on the family farm in Moorland. He attended Moorland school and bragged about being the top of his class of twelve.

On April 8, 1962, Toby was united in marriage to Neola Jean Smith at Clarion. Toby and Jean enjoyed their summers at their place in Spirit Lake. Toby loved fishing for walleye and spending time with his family at the lake. Toby and Jean spent years growing the ingredients in their garden for their famous salsa they made and gave every Christmas. Toby loved the Lord and spent many years living his faith through his kindness, patience, and involvement in his church.

Toby is survived by his sons, Randy (Alexandria) Weiss and Cory (Kristi) Weiss; grandchildren, Cassandra, Zachary, Trevar, McKenna, Cody, Hunter, Wyatt; 6 great-grandchildren; his brother Jerry Weiss; sisters-in-law Adrian Weiss, Marianne Weiss, Karen Weiss and Donna Nelson; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Jean in 2011, his parents Elmer and Wanda Weiss, his brothers Donald and Ronald Weiss, brother-in-law Eldon Nelson, and grandson Colt Weiss.
