YVONNE RUTH BOOK

She was baptized June 14, 1925 at the Lutheran Church in Vincent. She attended Newark Township #10 country school, Vincent, Iowa and graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1943. In the fall of 1943, she was accepted at the Des Moines Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing. During WWII, she entered school through the United States Cadet Nursing Corp. In 1946, she married Dennis C. Christenson in Fort Dodge. To this union two children were born, Dennis and Jennifer. Her husband passed away in 1953. Yvonne returned to her grandparents farm home near Vincent. She worked as a nurse at the Webster City Hospital. In 1971, she married Edward C. Book of Minburn and made their home on a farm in the area. They later moved to a condo at Boulder Cove, Lake Panorama. She returned working as a nurse at the Panora Care Center. Edward passed away in 1983 and Yvonne continued to live at Boulder Cove. She retired in 1986 and has been a resident of the Panora Nursing & Rehab Center since August of 2012.

Yvonne was a very active member at St. Thomas Lutheran Church, Panora.

She is survived by her children, Dennis (Joyce) Christenson of Anamosa, IA and Jennifer (Doug) Wicks of Colorado; 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1st husband Dennnis Christenson, 2nd husband Edward Book, and a sister Genevieve Christenson.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 A.M., Friday, April 11, 2014 at St. Thomas Lutheran Church, Panora, IA. Burial will be 1:30 P.M. at Violet Hill Cemetery, Perry, IA. Visitation will be Thursday, April 10, 2014 from 4-7 P.M. with family present from 5-7 P.M. at Twigg Funeral Home, Panora.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
