Bishop Nickless to visit Fort Dodge Tuesday

Bishop Walker Nickless, the leader of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Sioux City, will visit Fort Dodge Tuesday as part of a tour of the diocese in which he will conduct Conversation Sessions about the sexual abuse crisis in the church. He will be at Corpus Christi Church, 402 N. Eighth St. The Conversation Session will begin at 6 p.m. with silent prayer in the church. At 6:30 p.m. Nickless will speak, offering an overview of the diocesan protocol for responding to any allegations of misconduct. Registration open for CrossWay Church Perspectives class

Registration is open for a Perspectives class that will be offered this winter at CrossWay Church. The class, which is open to the public, will feature teaching, learning activities, prayer, and snacks. It is taught by 15 different instructors who walk participants through the Biblical, historical, cultural, and strategic aspects of Missions. Pork tenderloin supper is today in Callender

CALLENDER — The 10th annual hand-breaded pork tenderloin supper will be held from 4:30 to 7:00 pm today at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, 504 James Street., Callender. The cost is $8 for adults, $5 for fifth-grade children and younger (1/2 sandwich). Carry-outs will be available. Proceeds will go toward Tile Restoration. The menu includes tenderloin sandwich, salads, baked beans, chips, dessert bars, and ice cream.

Epworth UCM Women to hold luncheon and bazaar Oct. 13

The Women of Epworth United Methodist Church will hold a salad luncheon and fall bazaar Oct. 13 in the church’s narthex, 2025 11th Ave. S. The bazaar will begin at 10 a.m. and lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Different kinds of salads along with a lettuce salad and all the fixings will be served. The bazaar will include bake sale items, craft items and there will be a table for taking orders for Rada Cutlery. The bazaar and meal are open to the public. Carryout will be available. HUMBOLDT — Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, Humboldt, is holding an Autumn Fest Supper from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday. The menu is roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, coleslaw, green beans, rolls and homemade pies. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for ages 12 and under. Carryouts will be available in the fellowship hall.
