Laurens UCM holiday event is Nov. 23

LAURENS — The United Methodist Women of Laurens United Methodist Church is holding its annual holiday event from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 23. Coffee begins at 9:30 a.m. Booths will feature breads, homemade candies, frozen casseroles, pies, cookie walk, nuts, Jumpy Monkey Coffee and quilted, knitted and embroidered items. Noon lunch will be a baked potato bar and bars and will be served from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Lunch tickets are $7 for adults to 6 years and $3 for ages 5 and under.

King Ringers to perform Friday

The King Ringers Handbell Ensemble will present a concert of holiday music at 7 p.m. on Friday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1436 N. 21st St. The program will include Thanksgiving and Christmas selections. “Pat-a-Pan” Processional will open the program with a bell tree and four-in-hand solo and duet, percussion and chimes arranged by Barbara Brocker. Tori Harper to perform concert Friday

CLARION — Christian singer and songwriter Tori Harper from Nashville will perform at 7 p.m. Friday at the Clarion First United Methodist Church. No tickets are required. Freewill offerings will be accepted.

St. Mary’s to hold Fall Festival

HUMBOLDT — The St. Mary’s Fall Festival will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 10 at the parish hall. The menu includes broasted chicken, corn, mashed potatoes, cole slaw, roll, pie and a drink. The price is $10 for adults. A children’s menu of chicken, mashed potatoes, corn and applesauce is available for $5. Children age 3 and under are free. There will also be baked goods, jams and jellies, and a quilt raffle. Tickets are available at the door and Feather My Nest For Less in downtown Humboldt.

Church to have election soup supper

The First Congregational Church, 1611 Williams Drive, will hold its annual Election Day Soup Supper from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday. The menu will include chicken noodle, chili and vegetable beef soups along with homemade desserts and beverage. Tickets cost $8. Children age 5 and under are free. Tickets can be bought at the church office, from any church member or at the door.

Rowan church to have gospel music

ROWAN — The United Church of Rowan, 813 Pesch Ave., Rowan, will hold an afternoon of gospel music on Sunday. Dale Eichor and Bobby Awe will perform. The music begins at 2:30 p.m. and will be followed by a soup supper at 4:30 p.m. The cost is a freewill offering which will benefit the Rowan Historical Society.
