WEBSTER CITY — Due to the projected forecast, the Kendall Young Library family summer kick-off carnival to kick off the summer library program will be held inside from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the library in Webster City. The scheduled Friends of the Library pop-up book sale is canceled for this month and will be rescheduled for the future. Watch the library’s Facebook page or press releases for details.

The 2024 F.O.D. (foreign, object, debris) Walk is 3 to 5 p.m. Monday. Litter will be cleaned up in the fields by Target and Walmart for Earth Day. The Stop the Scammers roadshow will visit Fort Dodge Wednesday. State Insurance Commissioner Doug Ommen and a representative of state Attorney General Brenna Bird will lead this session, which will help people learn how to avoid getting scammed. A Fort Dodge man charged with dealing methamphetamine from a hotel room last year has pleaded guilty in federal court. Jordan T. Taylor, 34, pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, according to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Iowa. Federal prosecutors reported that Taylor acknowledged dealing more than two pounds of meth from a Fort Dodge hotel room in August and September 2023.
