FD Women’s Connection to meet May 14

Fort Dodge Women’s Connection invites all area women to a brunch at 9:30 a.m. May 14 at Tea Thyme, 2021 Sixth Ave. S. Tickets are $15 inclusive. The special feature will be Luke Fillmore, a bagpipe player. The speaker will be Dolly Snitselaar from Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Her talk is entitled “Life’s Many Detours — The Challenge is How We Handle It.” Reservations are essential and can be made by calling Kathy at 515-408-7981. Reservation deadline is Sunday.

Letter carrier food drive is Saturday

Letter carriers from the Fort Dodge Post Office will be doing more than delivering the mail when they make their rounds Saturday. They will also be collecting donations of non-perishable food items for their annual food drive. All items they collect will be donated to local food pantries. Residents are asked to put any items they wish to donate by their mailboxes.

FDCSD to meet with bargaining units today

The Fort Dodge Community School District will present its initial proposal and response to the following groups today: • Fort Dodge Bus Drivers Bargaining Unit at 1 p.m. • Fort Dodge Secretary/Clerical Bargaining Unit at 2 p.m. • Fort Dodge Teacher Associate Bargaining Unit at 3 p.m. These meetings will be held in the board room at the Central Office Building, 109 N. 25th St., and will be open to the public.
