The Blanden Memorial Art Museum, 920 Third Ave. S., will be closed on Thursday in observance of the Independence Day holiday. Normal museum hours will resume on Friday.

Fort Dodge man pleads guilty to federal gun charge

A Fort Dodge man who had been previously convicted of five state felonies has now pleaded guilty to a federal gun charge. Matthew J. Bradley Jr., 37, pleaded guilty on Thursday to being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm, according to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Iowa. His sentencing hearing has not been scheduled yet. He faces a maximum of 15 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and up to three years of supervised release following any prison term, according to prosecutors. Woman charged with using wasp spray on officers

A Fort Dodge woman is accused of spraying law enforcement officers with wasp spray, according to criminal complaints. Morgan A. Flanigan was also armed with a knife at the time, the criminal complaints state. The incident occurred at 9:48 p.m. June 9 in the 800 block of First Avenue North. According to online court records, Flanigan resisted arrest, brandished a knife and sprayed wasp spray at officers. Some of the spray landed on a Webster County deputy sheriff’s leg. Man charged in knife attack

A man has been charged with stabbing another man during a fight late Thursday afternoon in downtown Fort Dodge. The incident occurred at 4:20 p.m. Thursday in an alley in the 900 block of First Avenue North. Fort Dodge police arrested Jeffery O. Holland, 60, of Fort Dodge, and charged him with assault while displaying a dangerous weapon. In a criminal complaint filed against him, Sgt.
