A Gowrie man accused of having sexual relations with a teenager in Fort Dodge has been arrested.

Benjamin Richard Gibson, 22, is charged with one count of second-degree sexual abuse, a Class B felony.

According to the criminal complaint, the Fort Dodge Police Department responded to a residence in Fort Dodge around 5 a.m. on Thursday. There, officers found Gibson and the 13-year-old victim in bed together. Gibson allegedly admitted to officers that he had intercourse with the victim.

Gibson had his initial appearance in Webster County Magistrate Court on Saturday. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 5 and he is being held in the Webster County Jail on a $25,000 cash-only bond.
