Andrews wants conservative approach in county

He seeks Republican nomination for supervisor

Randy Andrews wants to bring conservative principles to Webster County government.

The Dayton man is seeking the Republican nomination for the District 2 seat on the Board of Supervisors.

“I want to bring a conservative point of view back to Webster County to control taxes and levies,” he said.

Andrews said if he is elected to the board his priorities will be lowering taxes and reviewing all ordinances with the goal of eliminating unnecessary ones.

In the June primary election, he faces Nathan Montgomery, of Burnside, for the Republican nomination. The winner will face Democratic Supervisor Mark Campbell in the November general election.

District 2 is much of the southern half of the county..

Andrews is a native of Evanston who graduated from Southeast Webster High School.

He is retired after 22 years of military service. He began his military service in the Marine Corps Reserve, then enlisted in the Iowa Army National Guard. He was a fulltime guardsman, working as a supply sergeant for a unit in Boone.

“Part of my job as a supply sergeant was to protect the government from fraud, waste and abuse and I’d like to bring that aspect to the county,” he said.

Andrews owns and operates the Lehigh Locker and a mobile poultry processing unit called the Chickin Pluckin Truck.

He is a member of the Lehigh Fire Department and the Dayton Rescue Squad. He recently completed the emergency medical responder course.

He is a member of the Dayton Wranglers Club, where he has served as secretary and as a member of the committee that organizes the IRCA July Rodeo. He has also been a Cub Scout leader.

He and his wife, Julie, have three sons.
