A Fort Dodge teen is facing a felony sex abuse charge in Webster County District Court.

According to Iowa Court records, Adam Trowbridge II, 16, allegedly admitted in a recorded phone call and to officers that he had sexual intercourse with a 12-year-old girl between December 2021 and January 2022.

Trowbridge is charged as an adult with one count of second-degree sexual abuse, a Class B felony that carries a possible prison term of up to 25 years.

Trowbridge had his initial appearance in Webster County Magistrate Court on Wednesday morning. He is being held on a $25,000 cash-only bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 19.
