St. Edmond to host farewell reception

St. Edmond Catholic School is hosting a farewell reception for Dawn Asay, Patty Groves, Kris Lien, Julie Nation, Bernie Rosch, Erin Rossmanith, Jarrod Roth, Abie Seltz and Jacob Short. The reception will be held on from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday in the St. Edmond Library. The public is invited to join in thanking them for their dedication and service to St. Edmond.

CCS Student Art Show is Thursday

Community Christian School will be having their Student Art Show 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 16, at the CCS gym, 2406 9 1/2 Ave S. The come-and-go program will showcase the art work completed this school year by kindergarten through eighth-grade students. Students have studied several different artists and have demonstrated their creativity using a variety of materials. Each student will have multiple works of art on display. FDSH musicians participate in State Large Group

On May 4, students in the Fort Dodge Senior High music department participated in the State Large Group Music Festival held at Fort Dodge Middle School. Seven Senior High large groups performed for judges throughout the day. “The Senior High music department had a tremendous day at State,” said Kim Wankum, FDSH vocal instructor. “The students in all of our large groups worked incredibly hard preparing for contest. Gibb receives four-year scholarship to Bethany

Andrew Gibb, a senior at St. Edmond High School, has been awarded the Luther Scholarship at Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, Minnesota, for the 2019-2020 academic year, according to an announcement from the college. The scholarship, valued at $52,000 over four years, is based on high school grade-point average and national standardized test scores.

Noon Rotary announces scholarship recipients

The Fort Dodge Noon Rotary Club has announced its scholarship recipients for the 2019-2020 school year. Rotary is awarding $1,000 tuition to Iowa Central Community College during the freshman year. This year, Noon Rotary awarded eight scholarships. FDCS Foundation names grant recipients

The Fort Dodge Community Schools Foundation has announced its spring grant recipients.
