Named to Wartburg Dean’s List

WAVERLY — Three local students were among 507 students named to the 2026 Winter/May Term Dean’s List at Wartburg College. They are: Makenna Kammerer, of Fort Dodge; Aaron Lursen, of Fort Dodge; and Jarin Kroeger, of Humboldt. The list honors students who earned a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or above in at least five course credits during the terms. Four of the five course credits have to be graded with a traditional letter grade. Adams named to dean’s list

OSHKOSH, Wis. — Ty Adams, of Fort Dodge, has made the dean’s list at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh for the spring 2026 semester. The term grade-point average requirement for the dean’s list is 3.75 out of a possible 4.0. To qualify, a student must have been enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits. There can be no individual grades below a “C” and no incomplete or non-reported grades.

DMACC names local grad, honor student

One local student graduated from Des Moines Area Community College following the recently completed summer semester. The new graduate is Jesseca Pirie, of Callender. She earned an accounting specialist degree. Another local student, Brandon Thompson, of Fort Dodge, was named to the college’s dean’s list for the summer semester. He is studying computer information systems.

Four named to BVU Dean’s List

Four local students were named to the Dean’s List for the summer semester at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake. They are: Tiera Altman, Fort Dodge. Kelsey Claypool, Fort Dodge. Holly Fortney, Otho. Angie Knuths, Gowrie. To be named to the Dean’s List a student must earn a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher.

Postal Employee Scholarships awarded

The Postal Employees Scholarship committee has awarded two area seniors with $1,000 scholarships. They are Gracie Harvey, daughter of Joe and Kelly Harvey, and Landon Bartlett, son of Kyle and Jana Bartlett. Both students are members of the graduating class of 2022 at St Edmond High School.

Annual Eighth Grade Night set for Feb. 8 at Senior High

Fort Dodge Senior High will host the annual Eighth Grade Night in the main gym on Tuesday, Feb. 8, beginning at 6 p.m. Current eighth-grade students who are interested in or planning to attend FDSH and their parents are encouraged to attend. This event will help provide students and families with the knowledge and skills needed for a successful transition to high school. Information shared will include an introduction of staff, ninth-grade schedule information, academics including the four-year plan and graduation requirements, attendance, Infinite Campus and activities and clubs. ...
