Christmas Market at the Fort Museum Trading Post has begun

“Time for Angels” is 1:30 p.m. on Dec. 7 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, 239 N. 11th St. In recognition that the holidays can be a difficult time for those experiencing grief, individuals and their families are invited to join Gunderson Funeral Home for a program filled with a message of hope and love. Please contact Gunderson Funeral Home at 515-576-7128 to add a name to the list of those to be remembered. At the conclusion of the service, all will be invited to the church fellowship hall where refreshments will be served.
A Concert of Advent and Christmas music is 7 p.m. on Dec. 2, at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, 239 N. 11th St. The concert will feature Jive for Five and organist Jason Swedlund. The concert is free and open to the public thanks to the St. Olaf Lutheran Church Foundation.
The Iowa Central Community College Music Department presents “Sounds of the Season” holiday concerts are at 7 p.m. Dec. 4 and Dec. 5 at the Decker Auditorium, Center for the Performing Arts, on the ICCC campus, 1 Triton Circle. The concert is free.
The Hawkeye Community Theatre, 521 N. 12th St., presents “A Fairy Tale Christmas Carol” at 7 p.m. Dec. 3 through 6, and at 2 p.m. Dec. 6, at the theater. Tickets are $10 per person and are available online or at the door.
Santa will arrive at the City Square at 5 p.m. Dec. 1, for the gazebo lighting and then travel along Central Avenue to Veterans Triangle Park for the tree lighting. From 5:30 to 7 p.m., visit with Santa, write letters to Santa and do crafts at the Wells Fargo/ISU Extension Building, 822 Central Ave.
