Experience history through the eyes of Thomas Jefferson at the Fort Dodge Public Library

As the nation commemorates the 250th anniversary of the United States and the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the public is invited to the Fort Dodge Public Library to step back in time and experience the founding of the United States through the perspective of Thomas Jefferson during a special historical presentation at noon on Wednesday. Lake paddling set for Tuesday

Webster County Conservation will hold lake paddling from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Badger Lake in John F. Kennedy Memorial Park, 1415 Nelson Ave., Fort Dodge. Kayaks, paddles and life jackets will be provided. Register online if you need equipment. If you already have your own kayak and life jacket, no registration is needed. St. Olaf to hold VBS

St. Olaf Lutheran Church, 239 N. 11th St., will hold vacation Bible school from 9 a.m. to noon July 14-17 for ages 6 to 12 years old. The theme is “Lego and Trust God.” There will be an Option Fellowship Camp until 3 p.m. on July 14 and 16. Lunch will be provided to those staying. June 17 will end at 12 p.m. with a block party. Family members are invited to attend. The cost is by freewill donation.

WCCT Presents Disney’s ‘The Little Mermaid Jr.’

WEBSTER CITY — Webster City Community Theatre invites audiences to journey beneath the waves this June as nearly 40 area children bring “Disney’s The Little Mermaid Jr.” to life on the WCCT stage. Based on the beloved Disney classic, the production follows Ariel, a curious young mermaid who dreams of exploring the world above the sea. Kendall Young closures scheduled

WEBSTER CITY — Kendall Young Library will be closed on July 3 and 4 for the 4th of July holiday. On July 21, the library will close at 4:30 p.m. for the Hamilton County Fair Parade.

KYL adult programs for July

WEBSTER CITY — Kendall Young Library will hold Adult Programs throughout the month of July. Adult Summer Reading Program — Adults are invited to join in a variety of “Plant a Seed, Read” summer programs.
