Experience history through the eyes of Thomas Jefferson at the Fort Dodge Public Library
As the nation commemorates the 250th anniversary of the United States and the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the public is invited to the Fort Dodge Public Library to step back in time and experience the founding of the United States through the perspective of Thomas Jefferson during a special historical presentation at noon on Wednesday.
Portraying the third president of the United States, “Mr. Jefferson” shares stories and firsthand reflections on the creation of the Declaration of Independence and the spirit of patriotism that helped shape a new nation. As the document’s primary author, Jefferson played a pivotal role in expressing the ideals that became the foundation of American democracy. Through this engaging in-character presentation, attendees will gain a deeper appreciation for the events, challenges, courage, determination, and vision that inspired the nation’s founding document and guided Jefferson and his fellow patriots during a transformative period in American history.
