Facing their first major test of the season, the 21st-ranked Iowa Central softball squad dropped a twinbill to No. 9 DMACC on Sunday at Rogers Park. Scores were 11-3 and 8-1 in favor of the Bears. DMACC (28-7 overall, 11-1 in the ICCAC) plated four runs in both the sixth and seventh innings to break the dam on the opener and extend its 3-0 lead. Ohlmeier earns regional honors for Tritons

Trista Ohlmeier capped off her freshman season at Iowa Central with all-region and all-defensive team honors. Ohlmeier produced just under 14 points with 10 rebounds per game, adding in 56 blocked shots. All of those numbers placed her in the Top-5 in the ICCAC. It was a rough weekend at the ballpark for the Iowa Central baseball team. The 12th-ranked Tritons were swept by No. 11 Southeastern on their home turf, falling 9-5 on Saturday and 6-4 and 11-9 on Sunday. Iowa Central (25-4 overall, 4-3 in the ICCAC) had won 21 consecutive games before the series with the Blackhawks (20-8, 6-1).
