Fifth-seeded PCM awoke a monster in fourth-seed Mount Vernon during Class 3A opener Monday at Rogers Park. PCM (26-5 overall) scored two runs in the sixth inning to break a 0-0 tie, but Mount Vernon (31-7) broke out with a six-run answer.
