To the editor: When flipping through channels a week or so ago I discovered Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham being interviewed on “The View”, a woman’s talk show on ABC that has five ultra-liberal hosts. To the editor: As I go about my day, I hear and see a lot of impatience, non-compassion, hate, and violence occurring in America. God is not any of those, and one must ask, what happened that America lost their patience, compassion, love and kindness. Let’s start with America lost track of God, whom provided our basic morals and ethics in society. Appreciates food drive support

To the editor: On April 8th the Fort Dodge Noon Lions held a drive-by food drive. A huge thank-you to everyone who came to the Lions’ Den to donate food and paper products. We collected and donated approximately 500 to 600 pounds of groceries to the Lord’s Cupboard. To the editor: My story takes you back to the WWII era. I’ll be 97 soon, and all my friends are gone. At the time of the war, I was living with my sister in Chicago. I was hired by the U.S. Navy, with offices on busy State Street in downtown Chicago. Three years of great work. My desk was by a glass window near the entryway, and the door was locked. How we can help our veterans

To the editor: There is a heart-wrenching crisis in our veteran community. The latest records show that 1,284 veterans in the Midwestern region alone ended their lives prematurely. This has been devastating for our communities, leaving many people across our state asking why this keeps happening. Fortunately, Congress has taken action to help flatten the curve of veteran suicides. We’re in a better position to save lives now that President Trump and our representatives in Congress approved $25 million to research veteran suicides by firearm.
