Parking lot service is Sunday

Second Baptist Church will be hosting its service from the parking lot on Sunday. The service begins at 11 a.m. The Rev. Rob Johnson, executive minister, will deliver the sermon. All are welcome.

Diocese staffers get new roles

Two employees of the Diocese of Sioux City have new roles. Dawn Prosser is now the director of communication. She will continue as media director for The Lumen newspaper and social media platforms. Susan O’Brien is now the director of stewardship and development. She will continue to conduct the diocesan Together As One – Our Diocesan Annual Appeal and Bishops’s Fundathon campaigns. The Diocese of Sioux City includes Holy Trinity Parish in Fort Dodge and Catholic parishes in surrounding counties.

LCMS VBS is Tuesday and Wednesday

Corpus Christi to open for private prayer

Holy Trinity Parish will open Corpus Christi Church, 402 N. Eighth St., for private prayer twice a week as the first step in opening to the public. The prayer service will be offered Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning June 16 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Limited space will be open and COVID-19 guidelines will be followed, including use of mask required. Volunteers will be at Corpus Christi Church to monitor and also to ensure that pews are sanitized after people leave the pew and before the next person utilizes the pew for prayer. GOWRIE — The Zion Endowed Benevolence Team of Zion Lutheran Church, Gowrie, is soliciting grant applications for 2020. The purpose of the Endowed Benevolence Program is to extend and enrich the kingdom of God by witnessing in word and deed to people in need both directly and through organized efforts or organizations, especially those not having their own planned giving programs.
