Manson St. Thomas Catholic Church roast beef dinner is March 22

MANSON — Manson St. Thomas Catholic Church is holding a roast beef dinner from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 22 in the parish hall. The menu is roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, salad, pie and beverage. Tickets are $13 per person with children age 5 years and under free. Proceeds will be donated to charitable organizations.

Mossman has been named director of Evangelical Mission

The Rev. Jim Mossman has been named director of Evangelical Mission for the Western Iowa Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Mossman’s new call is a partnership between the ELCA’s churchwide ministries and the Western Iowa Synod. He will work with congregations in the areas of stewardship, mission support, congregational vitality and evangelism. Candyland Carnival at CCS March 7

Community Christian School, 2406 9 1/2 Ave S., will hold Candyland Carnival from 4 to 7 p.m. March 7. The event is a family-focused, carnival-style extravaganza utilizing virtually every room in the school building. Games, prizes, a bouncy house, face painting and treats will all be included. The games, each with prizes, will be targeted toward children from toddlers through eighth graders. Each classroom will feature a different game. Mallard Trinity Lutheran to hold soup dinner

MALLARD — Mallard Trinity Lutheran Church is holding a soup dinner from 11 a.m. to noon March 8. Chili, chicken noodle soup, lettuce sandwiches, brownies and ice cream will be served for a freewill donation. Donations will benefit the ladies local mission projects.

Knights of Columbus Fish Fry is Friday

The Knights of Columbus Lenten Fish Fry is 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Corpus Christi Center, 405 N. Eighth St. Dinners are $10 for fried or baked fish or shrimp and $11 for fish and shrimp combination dinner. The dinners include french fries or baked potato, cole slaw, fresh roll, ice cream and beverage. All you can eat grilled cheese is $5 and children are $5.
