FDPL children’s department adventure is Tuesday

Join the Fort Dodge Public Library, 424 Central Ave., in the library’s main space at 10 a.m. on Tuesday for magician Mikayla Oz. Back by popular demand, Oz and her incredible assistant, Bubbles the Bird, return with a high-energy, interactive magic show packed with surprises, laughter, illusions and more. FDPL holding adult and teen board game nights

Join the Fort Dodge Public Library, 424 Central Ave., for a fun time with both classic and new board and card games. There will be a wide variety available, but you’re welcome to bring your own too. With plenty of games to choose from (and tables for multiple games at once), there’s sure to be something for everyone to enjoy. Board Game Nights will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Mondays, July 21 and Aug. 18, in the large meeting room. ‘Music of the West African Kora’ for adults and teens at the Fort Dodge Public Library on Monday

Join the Fort Dodge Public Library, 424 Central Ave., to listen to “Music of the West African Kora” at 6 p.m. on Monday in the large meeting room. Sean Gaskell features songs on the kora — a 21 stringed West African harp. The kora is traditionally played by oral historians known as Griots. Many songs featured on the kora preserve an 800 year history dating back to the foundation of the Mande empire. If you are a music lover, you will love this program. Garden Club meeting Tuesday

The Fort Dodge Federated Garden Club will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Lion’s Den, 731 Exposition Drive. This will be a special meeting to celebrate Shirley Wolf becoming the State Federated Garden Club president. Join the club for special treats and fellowship. Visitors are welcome. Visit the Garden Club at the Webster County Fair Flower Show on Friday.

Livermore Daze is July 19

LIVERMORE — “The 1879 Project” committee is ready for the Second annual Livermore Daze celebration from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on July 19. There will be a fun filled day of events and a street dance on Main Street starting at 7 p.m. with “Love Bomb,” then at 8:30 p.m. “Back to Vinyl” will hit the stage. Admission is $10 and includes both concerts. The dance and bands are sponsored by “The 1879 Project,” Ottos’s 415 Pub and Scooter’s Bar on Main.

Livermore truck pull 2025 is Friday

LIVERMORE — The Livermore Firefighters Association and Central Iowa Truck Pullers are hosting the Livermore Truck Pull 2025 at 6 p.m. Friday at the pulling track just east of the Gold Eagle Co-op in Livermore. Pits will open at 5 p.m. There is a $30 per hook fee. All trucks, all classes and all associations are welcome. Free attendance for all spectators with all proceeds going to support the Livermore Fire Department. Food will be available on site by The Handle Bar Restaurant from Lu Verne and the Taco Shack Food Truck.
