Habhab Amateur at Lakeside on Sunday

The annual Travis Habhab Amateur tees off on Sunday morning at Lakeside Golf Course.

A field of 84 golfers were signed up as of Saturday afternoon. Though two-time defending champ Andrew Huseman is not on the lineup card, annual contenders and former event winners Kevin Ault, Ryan Kinseth, Eddie Doyle, Lucas Peed, Austin Morrow, Robert Flattery, Kole Petersen, Steve Cero, Phil Ruth and Niel Doak are all entered.

Both Alec and Avery Fuhs of Webster City will also be on the scoreboard, along with Christian Birdsell, a former Humboldt and Iowa Central standout who now plays for Grand View University.

Huseman carded a nine-under par 99 a year ago to finish ahead of Ault (102), Peed (104), Morrow (108), Kinseth (108), Cero (108) and Flattery (108).

Habhab, a 2001 Fort Dodge Senior High graduate, worked in both the clubhouse and on the course for superintendent Chad Graaf. He passed away in 2014 at the age of 32.

The event begins with tee times running from 8-10 a.m. A championship round will take place on the back nine, beginning at approximately 3:30 p.m.

Lakeside is a par 36-36–72 layout.
