Bahr, Hanson have monster nights
GOWRIE — The Southeast Valley football team showed they can run and throw the ball with equal effectiveness on Friday night.
The Jaguars (2-1 overall) combined for 417 yards of total offense in a 54-6 victory over South Hamilton (0-3).
Quarterback Mason Bahr completed only five passes, but they were all for touchdowns. Bahr was 5-for-6 for 175 yards and five touchdowns.
He connected with Bryce Harrison for 40- and 29-yard TDs. Logan Jaeschke had a 64-yard touchdown catch, while Alex Burger (21) and Colin Johnson (14) also had touchdown grabs.
Casey Hanson only carried the ball seven times for the Jaguars, but nearly surpassed the 200-yard plateau. Hanson ran for 194 and three TDs. He scored from 93, 43 and 32 yards out, averaging 27.7 yards per carry.
Drew Temple carried the ball eight times for 20 yards and Jaeschke had one carry for 40. Harrison had three catches for 76 yards.
The Jaguars recovered five fumbles on the evening. Josh Martens had two, while Nick Field, Kyle Eastman and Hanson all had one each.
Spencer Pederson was 6-for-8 on extra points for Southeast Valley.
Garrett Johnson had the lone score for the Hawks, running the ball in from one yard out.
Wyatt Gelder led the ground attack with 144 yards on 19 carries. Jose Babcock had 97 yards on 16 totes.
