OGDEN — The Twin Lakes Conference will be well represented at the upcoming Class 2A state track and field meet, as Manson Northwest Webster, Southeast Valley, South Central Calhoun and East Sac County secured automatic bids at a qualifier here Thursday night.
Matt Condon led the way for the Cougars, winning the high jump, long jump and 400 hurdles, along with earning a silver in the 110 hurdles. Teammate Jack Hoeppner won the 400, as the first and second place finishers from each event advance to state.
The remaining spots in the field will be determined by the next eight best from all the district sites.
Along with those five qualifying events, Manson Northwest Webster’s Alyssa Richman earned spots in both the 3,000 and 1,500.
Ava Moline was third in the discus, Kyla Egli finished fourth in the 100 hurdles, fourth in the 400 hurdles and fifth in the long jump, with the girls distance medley also placing fourth.
Thatcher Oswald (3,200), Mason Anderson (high jump) and Brylea Prince (high jump) each finished fifth.
For the Jaguars, Kayden Showers claimed the 200 and ran on the winning sprint medley along with Dreyvon Steadman, Logan Jaeschke and Alex Burger.
Keelan Wellman was second in the 400 with Burger scoring silver in the 400 hurdles while also running on the second place shuttle hurdle with Casey Hanson, Kolton Ollinger and Colin Johnson.
The 4×200 of Johnson, Jaeschke, Bryce Harrison and Showers advanced to state by finishing second.
Johnson was third in the 400 hurdles, Owen Nuss fourth in the 800, Camryn Lane fifth in the 200 and 400, and Sage Lane fifth in the 400 hurdles. The 4×100 of Steadman, Jaeschke, Harrison and Showers finished fourth, as did the 4×400 of Harrison, Ollinger, Jaeschke and Johnson.
South Central Calhoun’s Redge Potts won both the 1,600 and 3,200, with Tristin Gorden claiming the discus. She was also third in the shot put.
Mya Ridgely advanced with a second in the 100 and placed fourth in the 200, as Andrew Anderson was third in the high jump and fifth in the 110 hurdles. Darius Eigsti was third in both the 110 hurdles and 200, as was the boys shuttle hurdle.
Iris Melody finished fourth in the 3,000 and Jace Pedersen was fifth in both the shot put and discus.
