Stags stretch win streak to 9

PLEASANT HILL — The Fort Dodge Stags boys rugby club continued their winning ways with a pair of 38-0 victories over Ames and Iowa City West at Southeast Polk.

Ty Adams, Jesse Egli and Isaiah Firsching all had two tries each for Fort Dodge, with Owen Stok, Carlos Elias, Gavin Pederson, Bo Cowell, Quintin Jaeschke and Brayden Reimers recording one try a piece.

The Stags have now reeled off nine consecutive wins since a season-opening loss to Cedar Falls.

Fort Dodge also hosted a junior varsity tournament at Crimmins Field earlier this week, as the Stags defeated Bondurant-Farrar and fell to Cedar Falls.

Jaeschke recorded two tries, with Brennan Stickrod also contributing two. Jesus Gutierrez, TyReese Hill, Quantaze Jordan and Reimers added one try each.

The Stags host their only invitational of the year this Friday, with matches at 5:40 (JV), 6:40, 7 (JV) and 8:40 p.m. inside Dodger Stadium.
