The Fort Dodge girls tennis team dropped a 10-1 decision to Spencer here Thursday.

Manuela Rodriguez picked up a 6-3, 6-0 victory at the No. 1 singles spot for the Dodgers.

“We are a young team and Spencer did a great job of keeping the ball in play and forcing the action,” FDSH head coach Julie Astor said. “We talked after and the girls were disappointed but also excited to get back at practice and continue to improve.”

Fort Dodge returns to the courts next week when they travel to Mason City on Tuesday,
