Dodger boys win at the nets
SPENCER — The Fort Dodge boys tennis team downed Spencer here Thursday, 6-3, and fell to Sergeant Bluff-Luton, 7-2.
Micah Flaherty, a two-time state medalist, earned a pair of wins in singles and two more wins in doubles. He played with both Akramjon Abudrakhimov and Tate Balkenende in doubles.
Balkenende and Aidan Recker also had wins in singles, while Recker and Abdurakhimov scored a doubles victory.
“I thought we played well for our second time out this year,” FDSH head coach Scott Messerly said. “We had some really good matches and the kids continued to battle out there.”
Next action for Fort Dodge will be Tuesday when they host Mason City.
